It is vital that, as
Christians, we view our true identity and self-worth through the eyes of God and truth of Scripture rather
than what the lies of the devil, circumstances of life and other people have told us we are and are not. Only
then can we truly be free (John 8:32)
There are many times throughout life when we are thrown a curve ball. Often,
this happens in childhood and comes about in the form of sexual, physical, verbal and emotional abuse. Perhaps
the abuse came through a stranger, friend or even a family member. Regardless of it's origin, these hurts can
leave painful scarring on a person's very soul.
As a young child, a person doesn't know what to do with the feelings that abuse has left behind. Those feelings of
aloneness, betrayal, and sadness manifest themselves as anger, worthlessness, depression, etc. Sometimes, the abuse
(usually incestuous sexual abuse) is so severe that a person's mind may choose to disassociate/split and
temporarily "forget" (known asDissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder
(MPD)), saving them from having to deal with
the trauma right then. God knows what we can and cannot handle.
You may believe that nothing you ever do is either right or good enough. Everything in your life comes down to a
measuring stick of performance. The person then carries this emotional imprint with them on into their adult lives.
It ends up affecting how they view themselves and often hurts relationships with wives, husbands, children, bosses,
friends, and ultimately God.
Past abuse is something that cannot be swept under the rug and simply forgotten. It is not something that can be
minimized and simply shrugged off as "no big deal." It is a wound....a handicap, if you will. If it happened as a
young child especially, it was something that had a large part in forming who you are now and how you act and react
to situations and other people.
This web site exists out of a love and concern for those who have suffered or are presently suffering the many
faces of abuse. It exists to offer hope. It exists to help lead damaged souls and crushed spirits to the Truth.
There is one true healer of your past, present and future. His name is Jesus and He wants to restore you to the
